WASH Promotion

Development of water sypply schemes and community education on hygiene and sanitation are among the major interventions of the organization. Communities in dire need of potable water are given priority to undertake water supply scheme proejcts. Both shallow wells and deep boreholes are constructed along with water distribution points. These projects have relieved the community from frequent water-born diseases and enable women, especailly girls to focus on their education. As women and girls are mainly responsible to fetch water from distant water sources like rivers and streams, they had to be frequently absent from schools and even drop out of schools.

WASH Promotion

The development of water supply schemes and community education on hygiene and sanitation are among the major interventions undertaken by the organization to improve the living conditions of vulnerable communities. Priority is given to areas facing severe shortages of safe and potable water. To address these challenges, the organization constructs both shallow wells and deep boreholes, along with accessible water distribution points that serve local residents efficiently. In addition to improving access to clean water, the organization also promotes awareness of proper hygiene and sanitation practices to help communities maintain healthier living environments.

These interventions have significantly reduced the prevalence of water-borne diseases and improved the overall wellbeing of community members. Women and girls, who traditionally bear the responsibility of fetching water from distant rivers and streams, are among the greatest beneficiaries of the projects. Previously, they spent long hours traveling to collect water, which often caused girls to miss school regularly or even drop out entirely. With clean water sources now available closer to their homes, women have more time for productive activities, while girls are able to attend school consistently and focus on their education, creating better opportunities for their future.
