About Bridge of Hope
Twenty three years of bringing hope and transforming lives in Ethiopia.
Our Journey
The Bridge of Hope story began in Switzerland in 1984, when visionaries Timotheus and Magdalena Augstburger established Bridge to Israel (Bruecke zu Israel). Their unwavering dedication to serving those in need laid the foundation for what would become a global mission of hope.
Our Global Impact
For over two decades, BoH has brought hope to many orphans and marginalized families across:
- West Bank, Israel
- Lebanon
- Armenia
- Georgia
- Ukraine
- Ethiopia
In 1999, Mr. Timotheus and Mrs. Magdalena Augstburger arrived in Ethiopia, partnering with Ato Demmelash Aysheshim. Together, they established the Morning Star Children's Village in 2001, fulfilling their vision of bringing hope to impoverished children in Gondar and its surroundings.
